The goal of this project is to create a library catalog of every pet on the planet. Regardless of what species or breed it is. By definition, a pet, is an animal that is kept for amusement or companionship. This project will attempt to archive every animal that has brought happiness and companionship to a human being. This library will be kept online for as long as there is an Internet.The goal is to provide future generations 100, 500 or even 1,000 years from now, a historical glimpse of what our pets and lives were like. In this world we generally don't think about the future much beyond one or two generations. However, the next 1,000 years will come, whether we like it or not. If everyone today did something to impact the long term future we could effect the course of humanity in a big way. This is my small contribution to the future of humanity. I hope your pets join the Pet Colony's voyage into the distant future. I will enjoy seeing your pets on this site and so will the rest of the planet.
